Docodemo Door?

I was so curious as to who actually lived here.. do they actually use this door?  Or does it serve as the home's "emergency exit"?  A "treehouse" equivalent in a verdure-challenged city?  I think it's more fun to wonder than to actually know the reality.  🙂

Moth Skipper

Yes, just a photo of a -moth- skipper butterfly 😛

Taken just before joining the D&C group on Saturday, unfortunately rather low quality since I didn't have my macro lens on my D800 and had to take this with the X10.

Still, the little guy (girl?) is kinda cute.  🙂

G'night from Tokyo!

Good friend and talented photAgrapher +andrew gram has an exhibition running in Shinjuku until Wednesday!

I've had the chance to shoot alongside Andrew a number of times and I'm always impressed at how he manages to extract something interesting out of the seemingly mundane.

If you have interest in B/W, Street, or Tokyo photography in general, his exhibition is well worth a look.

My Exhibition – Tokyo Street – ???
A year ago I applied to a gallery in Tokyo for the opportunity to exhibit my photos. I submitted about 40 photos from a personal project I did on shadows in Shinjuku. I wasn't expecting to be accepted, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a letter from the gallery with an official date for my exhibition.

The exhibition will be more than 40 monochrome prints of Tokyo street photography. Some of the photos you may have seen but many of the photos will be brand-spanking-new.

Doing a solo exhibition like this has been a test of my confidence and character but I believe it is good to have a project with a deadline. They keep you honest!

See the details below. I hope you can stop by!

Entrance is FREE
Date: 8/22 – 8/28 (CLOSED on Sunday)

Been away from G+ for a bit due to work, business travel, etc, but I'm still around and had the chance to visit an exhibition featuring work by +Takahiro Yamamoto , +Yuga Kurita , and +nao sakaki .   I've seen alot of their photos online, but seeing the pictures in print is even cooler!

It runs until the 29th, so I encourage you to drop by if you have a chance!  🙂

Biker cat

I know I posted this one to the #GPlus2YearAnniversary  group album before, but I wanted this in my own album as well since I rather liked it.  Plus, I was taking care of 4 cats this weekend, so it seemed fitting.

This weekend went by too fast… Monday again, and time to head off to work.. (T_T)

Ducks in a Row

Not sure how well this photo works.  I feel that there's a lot of distraction from too many elements in the image.. but I went ahead and processed/uploaded because I liked the ducks.  😛

And yes, it's another from the #Gplus2YearAnniversary  photowalk!

So, time to go off to work, have you made sure you've got all your ducks in a row for today?  😉

Jinrikisha

Yes, another one from the #GPlus2YearAnniversary  photowalk.  Almost finished going through them though.  (^^;

I've seen these "jinrikisha" around the Asakusa area, but though it looks like fun, I've never tried it riding in one myself.  I know it's odd because it's their job, but I would always feel sorry for someone who had to pull me around!
That, and it's a little expensive…

Off to bed, good night from Tokyo!

Afternoon constitutional

Yet another one from the #GPlus2YearAnniversary  photowalk.  (I must say I got quite a few shots I liked on that day!)

This was taken just outside of Yanaka cemetery.  It's a great place to walk around and get people shots; I took another photo around this area during the sakura season that I really liked as well, and the whole area seems to have a temple or shrine on almost every corner.

It's a 3 day weekend, yay!  But I work on Monday still… (>_<).  But hopefully only a half day, so it's still a 2-and-a-half-day weekend 😉

Goodnight from Tokyo!
