It's been a while since I've had a chance to post anything to G+; I was away last weekend on a volunteer cleanup trip in the Tohoku area, and this weekend I participated in another charity run event, followed by a full day at the office.  So… it's been busy!  And I've got lots of images to process/go through..

Just a quick upload before I go to bed – this was a quick snapshot of some mountains near a rest stop on our way to the volunteer center.  The autumn colors were simply amazing; to be honest, a picture simply doesn't do it justice as there's no replacement for actually seeing this kind of scenery with one's own eyes.  

I'm off to bed now, as I have an early wake up for work tomorrow sadly.

I'm about to head out for a weekend of volunteer work (so I will be offline for most of the weekend), and I came across this – another great way to donate a little (or a lot) to charity while getting some great games to play!

I especially like that they're cross-platform and DRM-free 🙂

Another small batch of #creative366project  shots…getting worried that I won't be able to upload all by the end of the year 🙁

I think August and September were the hardest months for me in terms of shooting for the project.  It was just hard for me to get into a creative mindset for some reason.  I got some shots that I liked, yes, but overall, those two months were my weakest.  Ah well… I'm still glad I kept going, though I look back at some the images and cringe.

Off to work

The weather is turning cooler here in Tokyo, and one of the effects it has on me is the desire to want to hibernate.  It's so much harder to get out of bed when everything is chilly and the sky is still dark.  I'd much rather stay under my warm blankets…

This shot is a nice reminder of summer, also taken in #hokkaido   earlier this year.  Like this little bee, I guess I really need to go off to work now…

It's Friday!

At least, it's Friday for those of us in this part of the world.  😉

This was a lovely field of sunflowers that we stumbled upon during our trip to Hokkaido earlier this year – we grabbed our cameras and managed to take a few shots before being shooed off (pleasantly enough though – I think they've had experience with camera-crazy folks who just can't help themselves :p

Hope this is a pleasant lead-up to the weekend for you all 🙂

Sunrise

Another quick add to the Hokkaido album.  This is a shot of a tree popularly known as the "Philosopher's tree", though I'm not sure of the history behind the name.

Our little band got up before the crack of dawn to drive out here and wait for the sun to rise.  We weren't alone; there were already other photographers also waiting for the sun to rise, some of whom had apparently made the trip several times before.  With mornings like these, it's easy to understand why.

Technical bits: D90 @f16, ISO200, 1/400s
