Very well written; though (as he says upfront in the beginning) the article doesn't outline what the future of interaction should be like, it does make you think, like any well-written piece should. Copying and imitation are normal, even expected in order to build on and improve existing designs/ideas, but he's right in that there hasn't been much in the way of innovative creativity lately when it comes to designs for interaction.
