As I've mentioned in previous posts, I had the opportunity to visit Shirakawa-go last weekend with fellow G+'ers +andrew holian , +Agustin Rafael Reyes , +Jason Arney , and +Jeff Austin . During this period I took many shots, but some of my favorite were not even from Shirakawago or Kinrokuen.
Four of us were lucky and didn't run into any issues getting to Toyama, but Jason's flight (which had left earlier) ran into bad weather and his flight turned back. While we were waiting for him to get on the next flight, we decided to do an impromptu photowalk around the immediate city surroundings, just to see what we could see.
Honestly, I rather enjoyed it despite the frequent snow flurries that blew up, probably because it was just relaxing. At least we didn't have to fight off other tourists/photographers like we did at our intended destination (Shirakawago).
I'll be adding more photos to this album over the coming days – these first photos are just those we took around the city, and the next images will be from Kinrokuen and Shirakawago proper. 🙂
In album Shirakawa-GO! (Feb. 2012) (19 photos)
