Trying for an old-timey feel

Another shot from the #GPlus2YearAnniversary  photowalk, this was taken at Nezu shrine.

Stood at this point for quite a while, waiting for the people to go away, and the fish to swim into view (most of them were huddled in the shadows).

Still, due to the time of day (around 4PM), the light was pretty harsh, and the image felt pretty "flat", so I messed around with the film filters in Color Efex Pro to try and make things pop a little.  I don't usually do that, but it's fun to do on occasion.  Couldn't do much about the blown out sky though 🙁

Off to work, it's Friday!

    I like how the Koi up front sets off the color of the shrine 😛

    Lovely!  Would that be a tea house?  Agree w/Wendy – the koi complements the color of the building.  Don't think we've visited Nezu shrine; another thing for our 'to do' list…do you know if they have a regular shrine sale?

    Thanks +Wendy Sanders .  I was waiting a while for the koi to show themselves, to the point of thinking to ask my fellow photowalkers if they wouldn't mind tossing some food out :p

    +Peggy M , it's a little viewing platform overlooking the stream.  Nezu is a nice place to visit especially around April/May – they have an azalea flower festival at that time 🙂

    +Ali M , actually I would sometimes do that!  But only if it were in easier backgrounds.  The viewing platform is too complex for me to even think about it in this case, so I chose to wait 😛  (and even so, you can still see a bit of someone in the back (^^;

    Fantastic shot +Jeff Matsuya. Gives a feel that the place is far away from Tokyo.

    Thanks +Shital Sevekari !  Should have had you pose on the platform 😉

    Ahhh, haha, that might almost be smart to bring a teensy bit of fish food with you and see what happens. Well, depending whether or not it's against the rules to feed them.

    +Jeff Matsuya then the scene might have looked like all the way from India. 🙂

    +Wendy Sanders , I'm not sure if it's against the rules or not, but probably not encouraged since it's at a shrine..(^^;

    +Shital Sevekari , Little India in Tokyo 😉
