Spam!

Holy smokes, I just noticed that the spam count has skyrocketed – over 600+ spam comments caught this month alone!  It would appear that spammers don’t take holiday breaks – December 25-26 (depending on which timezone you happen to be in) has Akismet catching well over 100 spam comments.  Spammers need to get a life, seriously.

    Considering that most of the spam is generated by bots, I’m not sure them getting a life is a good thing. Terminator, anyone? =)

    Ah, it all makes sense now! Skynet is just an offshoot of today’s botnets, and the resulting terminators will be overwhelming us with offers of “herbal enhancements” and genuinely fake Rolexes! Such a bleak future..

    I have to say I did get a chuckle out of the thought 😉

    Maybe someone will make a movie about those bots…seems like every other movie out this year is about some AI 😉

    BTW, caught a glimpse of your weather: 4C; ours is currently -29C! Brrrr, Happy New Year!
