Was communicating with a coworker in Singapore and as he was getting ready to leave he sent the following email:
Taday is Eat Your Family day in Singapore and we all get to go home early.
While I was sitting there wondering what kind of barbaric customs they had in Singapore, he replied a few minutes later with “Oops, I meant Eat With Your Family day.“ – at which I laughed out loud in the office.
For those who don’t know what he’s referring to, today is apparently a day that participating companies let workers go home earlier than usual so that they can spend a little more time with their family. A practice I definitely think JAPAN should adopt!

I like the sound of this holiday as well. Gives you an excuse to sneak out of work early =p
On another cruel note, you could scare your kids and tell them they actually had an older sibling but he/she got too old…
Tet’s post is too funny! 🙂 BTW, Josh graduated last night…wow, it’s an odd feeling not to have a kid in HS…now on to ??? Jess got a call before 4am today re his on-line course ( I just love the difference in time zones between here and the CONUS east coast, second time that’s happened!). He has lots of on-line reading so it’s tiring. Have a great day!
just noticed that you edited your post…looks good, but “Taday”??? I’ve heard of ‘Ta da’, but “Taday” is a new one…Maybe I’m being too influenced by John Grisham’s “The Last Juror”…a good read. 🙂
