Google+Yamanote Line Photowalk!
November 16, 2013 – 04:36
Participating a Yamanote photowalk today, starting now and uploading from mobile – more to come!

I participated in the office annual volunteer trip in Tohoku last weekend, and will hopefully have some photos from the trip that I'll be able to share.
One quick one though, was taken on the train platform while waiting to return to Tokyo.
This is the Hayate E5 bullet train, and these things go fast! We were on the platform trying to figure out which train we were going on when suddenly one of these went barreling past. I literally didn't have time to lift my camera before it was gone.
Luckily one more came by just before our train pulled in, and I managed to get a quick shot before it vanished out of sight.

The level of devastation in the Philippines following super typhoon Hainan is staggering, and every little bit you can do will help, whether donating, spreading the word, or just sending prayers their way.

FYI for the Red Cross link: US$1 = approx. 43 Philippine pesos
Philippines Typhoon Emergency Appeal: Millions left homeless – Donate to UNHCR – UN Refugee Agency
Super Typhoon Haiyan hits the Philippines
One of the most powerful storms on record has struck the Philippines leaving millions of people without a home. As the death toll rises, at least 10,000 people are thought to have been killed by Haiyan’s catastrophic impact.

Can't help but think that this little fellow is looking almost guiltily at me, as if he was caught taking one too many sips of nectar. 😉
Happy Halloween!
October 31, 2013 – 14:06
This has nothing whatsoever to do with Halloween, but what the hey. (^^)
I had planned to photograph a zombie parade this evening, but I found out too late that the times had changed, and I I wasn't able to make it in time.
Oh well, better luck next year. Hope the rest of you have better luck with your halloween pictures, and don't get too sick from all the candy 😉

A touch of color
October 29, 2013 – 08:57
Why this shot? I was fascinated by the tinge of purple along the edge of the leaves, it was pretty.. and that's all 🙂

Floral Glow
October 25, 2013 – 12:46
This should be an easy flower to identify, care to take a guess? 🙂
It was also extremely frustrating to shoot because I was doing it handheld (we were in a enclosed garden), and I didn't have a tripod handy. Lots of grumbling, but I finally managed to nab a non-blurry shot.
Good night from Tokyo! 🙂

Morning Mists
October 22, 2013 – 09:12
An early morning shot of Lake Kawaguchi – I'd gone out around 0530 with my mother to photograph Mt. Fuji (those images turned out to be fairly average, but I may post it later anyway), but my favorite shot of the morning ended up being of the lake, shot quickly as we were walking back for breakfast.

Mirrored heights
October 18, 2013 – 09:15
I've shot something similar to this before, but different skies, different angles… you notice something different that makes it worth shooting again. 🙂
Weekend's coming up – very much looking forward to it..
