?=?=?( >_<)?

On Sunday, I participated in the annual Fit for Charity 10k run.  It wasn't too bad – I've recently started practicing jogging again, trying to get in shape for next year's Tokyo marathon, so I wasn't too wiped after the run.

However, one of my office colleagues got sick and I was suddenly "invited" to take his place in the 400m relay race!  (4 people, 100m each).   It was quite the experience.  I'm NOT a fast runner by any means, I prefer the "slow and steady" pace, so this 100m dash was completely new, but I have to say, very exciting!  This shot is one of the runners – he looked quite fit and in shape..

I am quite wiped out though.. and legs are protesting fiercely (^^;

    I've recently started running, I've never ran (for exercise) before (I'm 42). I enjoy it a lot.

    I look forward about hearing more about your training and running experience. Thank you for sharing.

    +Ottaro Chabo , thanks!  I've run on and off the last few years, but have dropped off alot this year – until I got the notification that I won the lottery to run in the Tokyo marathon…
    So I'm trying to build up my endurance bit by bit.  It is tough to train as the winter months approach though… (^^;
    Good luck with your training as well, take care of your knees! (my weak point)

    +Jeff Matsuya You have to promise to up date your experience in the Tokyo marathon please. It must be a great experience !

    But don't over stress your knees! 😉

    Wait, are you annanu?  (sorry, I lose track of names…)
    It was a great day for a run, but I didn't do much ingressing I'm afraid (worrying too much about the relay run (^^;

    Yep, I am annanu. It was a really good day for a run. I ran 10K then watch
    the relay. Our team didn't win. Let's go for a run together around the
    palace some day.

    +Kung Somsaman , so you probably saw me running the relay!  I won't say which team I was… my performance was so bad… (^^;
    Let's definitely try a palace run sometime – cover it with a CF 😀

    Wow!  I'm impressed.  You've come a long way in such a short time…If I remember correctly, you just began practicing again during our visit!  Congrats 😀

    I'm still super slow +Peggy M .  I need to be able to do 42km in about 6hrs by February, so I still have a long way to go…

    I trust your wisdom that while you will work hard to achieve that goal, you won't do something that may adversely affect your health – and your knees! 🙂

    That's cool! I hope you're ready in time for the marathon. I was considering joining the Tokyo Marathon myself next year but I recently found out that they won't allow me to use a scooter. So there goes my dreams of marathon gold. He he he. ;-P

    +Mark Esguerra , thanks!  They might allow you to use a scooter if you're a member of the support team.  So you can come and carry me out on a stretcher if I don't make it 😛
